Business consulting for companies that have outgrown their original plan

Most firms between £2m and £30m in revenue hit the same wall: the structure that got them here is now the thing slowing them down. We find the drag and fix it.

Based in Clerkenwell, working across the UK. Typical engagement: 8 to 14 weeks.

Four weeks of diagnosis before any recommendations

Week 1: Financial and operational scan

We pull apart your P&L, your org chart, and your last 12 months of management accounts. The goal is to see where cash, time, and attention actually go, not where you think they go. We interview your finance lead and at least two department heads during this stage.

Week 2: Customer and revenue analysis

Which customers generate margin, and which ones just generate activity? We segment your client base by profitability, not revenue. This step often reveals that 15 to 20 percent of accounts consume more in support costs than they return.

Week 3: Team structure review

Reporting lines, meeting cadences, approval chains. We map every recurring meeting in your calendar and calculate the salary cost per hour of each one. Redundant sign-off loops are the single most common source of wasted capacity in firms your size.

Week 4: Diagnostic report and prioritised action list

You receive a written report, typically 18 to 25 pages, with a ranked list of changes. Each item includes estimated effort, expected financial impact over 12 months, and the internal owner we recommend assigning to it. No fluff, no appendix padding.

Six areas where we work

Pricing and margin repair

We rebuild your pricing model from unit economics up. Most clients discover they have been under-pricing their highest-value services by 20 to 35 percent because the original rate card was set years ago and never stress-tested.

Operational restructuring

Reporting lines, approval flows, handoff points between teams. We redesign how work moves through your organisation so that decisions happen closer to the customer and further from the boardroom.

Growth planning

Not the aspirational kind. We build 12-month plans with monthly revenue targets, hiring triggers, and capital requirements. Each milestone has a specific go/no-go criterion so you know when to accelerate and when to pause.

Management reporting

If your monthly board pack takes more than two hours to produce, the system is wrong. We design dashboards and reporting rhythms that give you weekly visibility into cash, pipeline, and delivery without a spreadsheet marathon.

M&A readiness

Thinking about selling in the next two to four years? We prepare the business for due diligence: clean financials, documented processes, reduced founder dependency. Buyers pay more for companies that run without their owners in the room.

Interim leadership

When a key hire leaves or a new role needs filling, we place a senior advisor inside your team for three to six months. They carry the brief, attend the meetings, and hand over a working playbook to the permanent hire.

Before you get in touch

Our clients usually sit between £2m and £30m in annual revenue. Below that threshold, the diagnostic cost is hard to justify. Above it, the problems tend to require larger teams than ours. The sweet spot is owner-managed or PE-backed firms with 20 to 200 employees that have grown quickly and now feel the strain in their operations.
The four-week diagnostic phase is a fixed fee of £12,000. Implementation support after that is priced per month, typically between £6,000 and £10,000 depending on scope and the number of days on-site. We quote a firm price before work begins, so there are no surprise invoices.
Yes. About a third of our clients are based outside London. We travel to your site for the diagnostic phase and key workshops. The rest of the engagement runs over video calls and shared documents. Travel costs within the UK are included in our fee.
You choose. Some clients take the report and implement it internally. Others ask us to stay for three to six months to run the changes alongside their team. There is no obligation to continue beyond the diagnostic, and the report is written to be actionable without us.
Professional services, light manufacturing, and technology companies make up about 80 percent of our portfolio. We have also worked with logistics firms, healthcare providers, and construction subcontractors. The common thread is recurring revenue or repeat-client models where retention economics matter.

Book a diagnostic call

The first conversation is 30 minutes, free, and has no sales pitch. We ask about your revenue, your team size, and the specific problem you want solved. If we think we can help, we send a one-page proposal within 48 hours.
